Carmike Cinemas has just announced a brand new state of the art ten screen movie theater is coming to the Grand Boulevard shopping center by summer 2012! This is very exciting news as it will be South Walton County’s first theater of it’s kind. There will be a total of 1800 seats, and Carmike’s state of the art “Big D” auditorium will be featured. The “Big D” auditorium will feature upgraded theater amenities including a wall to wall screen that is three stories tall and 60 feet wide! It will also feature digital projection and 7.1 surround sound. The “Big D” experience will be by a high end 3-D flash projector that projects images on the ceiling to floor, wall to wall screen. By projecting a 30,000 lumens light output, the picture will have a higher resolution than HD! Also featured will be leather high-back rocking chairs. The new Carmike Montecito 10 will join Rave Motion Pictures Destin Commons theater (which includes an IMAX auditorium) as the area’s second high end movie going experience, and will give local audiences more choice and convenience in their movie watching!
